“If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country, and the people do not become religious I do not know what is to become of us as a nation.  And the thought is one to cause solemn reflection on the part of every patriot and Christian.  If truth be not diffused, error will be; if God and His word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy; if the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will; if the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misrule, degradation and misery corruption and darkness, will reign without mitigation or end.”  —Daniel Webster

Good works are not the means to salvation, but the fruit of salvation in the life of a believer.

He who boast of grace has little grace to boast of.—C. Spurgeon

Our view of people determines how we treat them, he who views people constantly in a negative manner, always putting others down only feels contempt for them in his heart.

The Bible characters fell on their strong points never on their weak ones……kept by the power of God, that is the only safety.—O. Chambers

How God sees us in Christ: Rom. 5:9-10, justified and reconciled, Col. 2:13, holy and beloved, Rev. l7:14, chosen and faithful.  Remember how God sees you as a believer and seek to let that define who you are.

The unsaved have reason to be afraid, for they have an angry God above them, a guilty  conscience within them and a yawning hell beneath them.—C. Spurgeon

Surely you did not hear, Surely you did not know, Surely from long ago your ear was not opened.  Isa. 48:8,  The words were spoken, but no one paid attention, human nature never changes but for the grace of God.

True religion is not shown by what we wear or say, it is shown by how we live our daily lives.

The church is found wherever the Holy Spirit has drawn together a few persons who trust Christ for their salvation, worship God in spirit and have no dealings with the world and the flesh.—A.W. Tozer

Taking up the cross and carrying it is never a group effort.  Though you may be surrounded by a crowd, you will carry your cross alone.   And carrying it you must realize that you are condemned to die to self and God’s will must become your will.
