(Wake upAmerica)…For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined. Isa. 60:12
But there was a certain man, called Simon, which before time in the same city used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria…Acts 8:9
Some people are like toxic plants, they look harmless, they blend in with people who like roses are fragrant and beautiful. Sometimes people use the favorable environment of a healthy church as a network for selfish purposes. Like poison ivy among roses, they are destructive and cause much misery.
I see a man cannot be a faithful minister until he preaches Christ for Christ sake, until he gives up striving to attract people to himself and seeks only to attract them to Christ. Robert Murray McCheyne
Character is that which is measured by what we do when no one is watching.
It is not enough to hear God’s voice, but we must obey it, if knowledge does not bring forth the child of obedience it will die. Thomas Watson
And having been perfected, he became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him Hebrews 5:9

A time will come when instead of the shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats. C. Spurgeon
God’s work done God’s way never lacks God’s support. George Muller
God does not save us by grace so that we may live in disgrace.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body. That you should obey it in it’s lust.
He had learning and good address, but his heart was not in it. He preached officially, and evidently did not aim at anything more than a fair and manly presentation of the subject. Methodism cannot thrive under such preaching. When it ceases to move sinners toward God, its days will be numbered. James Porter 1879
Genesis 26:18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father
I love to read biographies. In reading them I have walked beside Martin Luther as he stood up to the religious leaders of his time in defense of the faith. Also, Jonathan Edwards as he preached his classic sermon, Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God, John Westly who spoke and the Holy Spirit descended in majesty and power, Charles Finny as he led thousands into the kingdom. All men of God filled with the Holy Spirit and following the same master, these men dug wells which were deep and pure clear water flowed from them.
Yet today we have loose in the world Philistines, clouds without water carried about by death dealing winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead pulled up by the roots, raging waves of the sea foaming up their own shame, wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
Ungodly men in pulpits filling up the wells dug so carefully, filling them with false doctrine, men who deny the truth of the Bible. Teaching the doctrines of devils in place of the truth and when the wells of truth are polluted it also effects government and education as well as life in general.
God’s people in many cases are being fed on a diet of dust and ashes in place of the bread of life. New wells are badly needed in our nation today. Let us remember the warning of Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell. And all nations that forget God.
Several years ago I heard an Evangelist so called. He was speaking and he was calling sin he said by the name of puppy dogs because it was not so offensive, may God give us men who have the courage to call sin, sin. And may the wells of truth and eternal life be dug deeply as the saints of old did.
Our forefathers dug the wells preaching and teaching, that there is a Sovereign God in heaven who hates sin and punishes sin, and He looks down on the church and is not always pleased with what He sees.
May we prayerfully seek to redig the wells of God’s truth, clean out the sewage and trash and all that has sought to destroy, dig them out so the water once more runs pure and clean.
The preaching in the pulpit determines the destiny of a country, it can be a most powerful force when the truth is being preached. The preachers in this nation if they are truly God’s men need to once again dig the wells deep and preach God’s sovereign grace. His eternal word in truth and the power of the Holy Spirit. May God in heaven help us if we don’t
